The Deye 8kW Hybrid Inverter (SUN-8K-SG04LP1) has become one of the most widely installed residential hybrid inverters in South Africa, and for good reason: it sits in the sweet spot between the modest 5kW units and the heavy-duty 12kW+ commercial range, handling virtually any residential load including geysers on timers, pool pumps, split air conditioners, and full workshop setups.
At 8kW continuous AC output on a 48V battery bus, the Deye 8kW handles peak inrush currents from inductive loads (motors, compressors, pumps) without tripping — a common failure point with cheaper 5kW inverters when a pool pump or compressor starts under load. Dual MPPT trackers independently maximise yield from two solar strings, supporting east/west split-orientation arrays and accommodating partial shading on one string without affecting the other.
The automatic grid-fail detection and battery switchover completes in under 10 milliseconds — fast enough that CCTV DVRs, NAS drives, and home office computers continue without any power interruption. The built-in Wi-Fi module connects to the Solarman platform for live monitoring and historical energy data accessible from any web browser or the Solarman app.
Deye’s lithium battery communication protocol is compatible with Hubble, Dyness, Pylontech, BSL, VOLTA, Freedom Won, Revov, and most other South African battery brands via CAN or RS485. The 5-year warranty (with 10-year option available) is supported by a local South African service network.
