Freedom Won is one of South Africa’s most respected battery brands, assembling LiFePO4 packs locally in Johannesburg using Grade A prismatic cells and in-house BMS firmware. The Lite Home 10/8 delivers 10kWh of gross capacity with 8kWh usable — the 20% reserve is managed by the BMS to protect cell longevity and ensure the warranty conditions are met over the rated 6,000+ cycle life.
The Lite Home range was designed with South African loadshedding realities in mind: the 8kWh usable capacity is sized to cover a typical energy-conscious household through two consecutive Stage 2 loadshedding slots (4 hours total) without requiring the battery to approach 0% state of charge, which would shorten cycle life.
Freedom Won’s BMS communicates over both CAN and RS485, with verified compatibility profiles for Victron MultiPlus/Quattro, Deye, Sunsynk, SMA Sunny Island, and Fronius Symo GEN24. Local assembly means warranty support is handled in Johannesburg without shipping cells overseas — a significant advantage when issues arise.
The Lite Home 10/8 is wall-mountable in a slimline cabinet and can be paralleled with up to four additional units, scaling the system to 50kWh of usable storage for larger homes or small commercial applications.
