Description
The Deye 12kW Three Phase Hybrid Inverter (SUN-12K-SG04LP3-EU) is designed for properties with three-phase supply — typically larger homes, smallholdings, workshops, and light commercial buildings in South Africa. Operating across three 4kW phases, it balances loads automatically, preventing the phase imbalance that damages three-phase motors and trips smart meters.
Each phase is independently managed, meaning the inverter continues supplying the live phases normally even if one phase is underloaded or has a specific high-demand appliance. The dual MPPT inputs accept two independent solar strings, with a total PV input capacity of up to 18kW (150% of inverter output) — allowing clipping-optimised oversizing for better morning and evening shoulder generation.
The free Wi-Fi dongle connects to the Solarman monitoring platform, providing real-time power flow visualisation, historical data export, and remote firmware update capability. Grid-tie export is supported where municipality agreements allow, enabling feed-in tariff revenue.
Battery communication via CAN or Modbus RS485 is compatible with all major LiFePO4 brands on the SA market. The sub-10ms switchover during loadshedding events means three-phase motors, compressors, and workshop equipment continue without interruption. Deye backs this inverter with a 5-year manufacturer warranty with South African support.
