The Araymond Powar Snap 90b (Large) is a module mounting and mid-clamp solution for larger panel frames (50mm+) that incorporates an integrated grounding feature — the 90b’s contact points pierce the panel frame’s anodising layer to create a reliable electrical bond between the panel frame and the mounting rail without additional grounding wires or lugs.
In South Africa, SANS 10142-1 requires all exposed conductive parts of a solar installation (including panel frames and mounting rails) to be bonded to the main earthing system. The traditional approach uses separate earthing clip hardware in addition to mounting clips. The Powar Snap 90b eliminates this duplication — the mounting clip simultaneously provides mechanical fixing and electrical grounding, reducing installation time and bill of materials.
The large (L) size accommodates panel frames from 50mm upward — relevant for some commercial 72-cell and bifacial frameless panel formats with thicker frames or double-glass construction. A box of 300 clips serves approximately 75 panels with mid-clamp grounding at each position.
Certified to UL 2703 for bonding and grounding performance, these clips meet the most stringent electrical compliance requirements for grid-tie solar installations. For installers building systems where a COC (Certificate of Compliance) is required, having grounding-integrated clips simplifies the grounding design and speeds up certification.
